Have you ever wondered about God’s plan for your life? I’ve certainly pondered this question myself, and I imagine you have as well. Sometimes, it can feel like a heavy burden – the uncertainty and endless possibilities can be daunting. But why does it feel this way? Perhaps because we want to ensure we follow God’s plan and make Him proud. Ultimately, we hope to hear, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
In my quest for guidance from God, I have come across a freeing realization. God’s will is not a problem for ME to solve. Before the lynch mob appears, let’s look at the one place where all answers are found – The Bible.
The beautiful concept of grace in God’s teachings emphasizes that love and forgiveness are given unconditionally, without any strings attached. Therefore, we can find solace in knowing that God loves and accepts us, regardless of our mistakes or flaws. There is no need to earn this gift based on our actions or performance.”For by grace, you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast” {Ephesians 2: 8-9}
Although we often strive to determine what God wants us to do in any given moment, His Word assures us that His faithfulness does not hinge on our understanding. Our wisdom may be irrelevant, but His faithfulness is steadfast.”The LORD’S loving kindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I have hope in Him.” {Lamentations 3:22-24}
The Almighty has vowed that His unwavering faithfulness and benevolence will always conquer any obstacles we may face. We can rest assured that His affection for us will never fade but remain constant and everlasting. {Rest in Psalm 136 for a moment}
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by life’s challenges and uncertainties, but it’s important to remember that God’s love and grace are always present. His love endures, regardless of our circumstances, and His faithfulness to help us is not dependent on our knowledge or performance. Rather than viewing His will as a strict path we must follow, it’s more about how we choose to walk with Him. So, how can we navigate the messiness of our daily lives in a way that honors our relationship with God? Simple: We are to “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing. Give thanks in all circumstances. This is God’s will for us in Christ Jesus.” {1 Thessalonians 5: 16-18}
In moments of adversity, we must persevere in prayer and gratitude. We can find solace in knowing we are aligned with His divine plan. Amid a difficult circumstance, praying might sound like this: “Dear God, even though I may not fully comprehend what’s happening, I trust you. Please give me the strength to persevere, even when I’ve been standing and waiting. I love you, Father, and I believe you will guide me through this.”
You can find solace in the fact that you are following God’s plan for your life when you are seeking Him. Keep trusting in His greatness, even when things are not going well. Even precious diamonds had a rocky beginning and endured immense pressure to become beautiful stones. I understand that stress can be unpleasant, but the end result is worth it. And one thing is sure: God rewards those who trust in Him. {Check out these scriptures on trusting God}. Now rest knowing that you are in His will as you trust Him!
